Halfway on Songs from the Heart Tour!

Hi Everyone!

So sorry it's been so long again!

We are a little more than halfway through our tour and it has been non-stop for us!
We are now in Pensacola, Florida and have hit the great weather.
So nice to have sun at last and a breeze! My favorite!

We've had a busy and great tour so far. From being in NYC doing promo for our new tour Songs from the Heart in February, to our rehearsals and tour starting off in Roanoke Virginia, it has been a whirlwind!
We had been in beautiful venues from the Fox Theaters to Radio City Music Hall, interspersed with lots of TV shows along the way mainly in NYC, the highlight being Regis and Kelly for St. Patrick's Day!
Again your support has been second to none and it's so nice to see people we now know well coming back again and again to our concerts.
We are still excited about our new show. Everything from the songs, the staging, the gowns, the lighting, have really come into it's own and it makes it all worthwhile when everyone is saying to us that it's their favorite show so far!
It's hard to believe that we only have five weeks left but we will be back in July!
We are also going to Australia to do promo and a tour so it is a busy time coming up!

Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes in advance!
While I do appreciate the generosity of gifts and thank you for that, I would be really grateful if, instead of gifts to me, to support a good friend of mine, Darragh Fisher, who is going to Haiti shortly to build houses for the people there. With the Irish based charity, Haven Partnership, and his engineering degree and years of experience, he is going to put all that to the best use in helping people who are in great need.
Go to
https://www.havenpartnership.com/html/donate/donateonline.php
Click on Donate; and in the spaces, fill in Darragh Fisher.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at www.maireadnesbittforum.com for their auctions and their efforts in raising $2000 for Oxfam Ireland Unwrapped. This is an incredible thing to have achieved and very giving of time and effort.
I was very moved by this and very glad to have been included in this generous act and
I know that Oxfam Ireland Unwrapped are very thankful, as am I.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes and support for the IMA awards to Celtic Woman for best group and myself for best Fiddle. I was very honored and we had a very nice time being presented with the awards in St. Louis on March 30th.

Well, I hope you all enjoy our new shows and there's always updated info on www.maireadnesbitt.com and www.celticwoman.com with our new webisodes added every few days and dates of our new tours!

Take care,

Slán,

Máiréad.

  1. Máiréad,

Thank you for taking the time to post a blog and update your fans. I know it has been a busy few months with the new tour starting and then to promoting the show for Australia after this leg of the tour. I hope that you have a bit of time to rest up before the next US tour this summer. I love the new show and hope to see it again, everything is fantastic.

I will keep your friend Darragh Fisher in my prayers as he ventures to Haiti. Hope he stays safe and is able to give his all in helping rebuild houses.

It has been an hounour being part of your forum and helping give to Oxfam Ireland Unwrapped.

Also, Congratulations on winning the IMA award for best fiddle and to Celtic Woman for best group, you are most deserving of them.

I hope you have a wonderful Birthday and I know there will be many from your forum there to celebrate.

  2. Hi Máiréad

Thank you for such a sweet and kind blog. You have really been busy and we are truly thankful for sharing you beautiful gift with us.

Your fans everywhere enjoy those moments when we have that chance to sit before you as you perform. Thank you again for such kind words. Wish I could attend more than I do, but I will be back in the summer tour. Both shows in Albuquerque for sure. CW withdrawal hits me hard when I have to wait for my next show.

Have fun in Australia and hope you have time to see some sites.

I have bookmarked Haven Partnership and I will be honored to help out such a worthy cause. Darragh will be in my prayers.

Congratulations on winning the IMA awards. The Celtic Woman and you totally deserved the awards. Your forum was behind you 100% and we are pleased that you won.

And one last thing. I wish you a very Happy Birthday. Make sure you take some time and enjoy your day.

  5. Máiréad,

Thanks for catching up with us in the midst of your busy tour schedule. Whirlwind indeed, being in a different location every day, it must be difficult just to know what day of the week it is, let alone where you’ve been and where you’re headed. Just keeping in touch with family and friends has to be a chore in itself. Your tweets always perk folks up too. Enjoyed meeting you in Charlottesville and Fairfax and hope to see you again at some point along the way.

Congratulations to you and the others on receiving the IMA awards.

Your friend Darragh is taking on quite a challenge. I’m sure many folks will show their support for his endeavors.

Happy Birthday! Continued good health and safe travels!

    Tom

  6. Dear Máiréad,

Thank you so much for the blog. Your friends and supporters so look forward to those. Thanks to the video tour diaries and meetings I can practically hear you speaking when I read the blogs!

Such a great new show and some of us are here in Florida to offer support to you for your birthday. No place I'd rather be on your special day than to help you celebrate it in some small way. I've a bag of goodies for you and everyone sent by many forum folks but one item is very special from all of us.

You're so welcome for Oxfam donations! Thanks to you as well for the donation to the auction for this year. Sure, happy to support Darragh as well.

What a busy year for you! Started in Switzerland (thanks for the videos of that!) and now three tours with Celtic Woman that we know about. Who knows what else for you!

Thanks so much for taking the time to blog and for your always kind comments and support. You deserved that IMA award not just for fiddling but for being such a lovely soul as well. You do continue to inspire so much in so many. God's blessings now and always, Máiréad. See you at the shows the next couple nights. Happy birthday and many more.

  8. Máiréad,

Thank you for this blog at the half-way point of the Songs from the Heart tour! We always look forward to these blogs from you--amazed that you can find the time though!

We are very proud of you, as always! It is always gratifying to us to see you "wowing" the crowds in every city you visit! We're even seeing Fiddler Crossing kites flying in Washington, D.C. these days! Please take care and don't hesitate to call on your fans for anything you may need! And, not coincidentally, Happy Birthday!

  9. Hi Máiréad,

Alright, let me get all happy first. If you read this, it would make my fay. I'm a HUGGGEEEE Celtic Woman fan (my current favourite songs being You Raise Me Up, Fields of Gold, and Non C'è Più). So, if you read this, just know, you're causing me uncontrollable glee. :)

Thanks for keeping us all updated on what's going on. I hear Florida's very nice. I also hear there's lots of gators and crocs there. Have you seen any?

I want to see your May 7th, San Diego tour so badly! I'm looking for a job (I'm fourteen, so I don't know what jobs are available to kids of my age) so I can get money to afford two tickets and Meet and Greet passes. But I don't know where to buy them (the M&G passes), and Google isn't being of much help.

I'll keep Mr. Fisher in my thoughts. It's very kind of him to be doing that.

Say hi to everybody for me! And Happy Birthday, Miss Nesbitt!

P.S. Congrats on the IMA Award! :)

  16. Hi,

I just wanted to say I am Glad that my 7 year old daughter loves listening to your music over all the other music out there. You all have such a beautiful sound! She loves to sing along with your CD's. We are hoping to make it to your show in Vancouver, but if we don't make it, we wish you the best on your tour! It makes me smile when watching her shine when singing and listening to your songs.

Have a Wonderful day and tour!

  18. Dear Máiréad,

We had the opportunity to see and hear you in concert together this tour for the first time. Each of us has seen you separately over the years not just with Celtic Woman but in other performances. As artists ourselves, and from Tipp we have to say we are so proud of you and all you have achieved. By all accounts you have remained as you were before it all began. No surprise to us at all. Celtic Woman has been a fantastic vehicle for you.

Congratulations on winning that award. It will be the first of many in your career no doubt. Most special is that it is largely fan based and that frankly means more than the peer based ones in our book.

Your experiences this tour are many but most special to you clearly the PS22 choir. They are gems. Again, many more highlights will come in your future.

We have also looked at the Máiréad forum and met some of the members there over the past couple of years. It is a lovely place and the ones we have met are honourable and very genuine in their support for you. You should be rightfully proud of inspiring such a fan base.

Keep us posted on what you are up to at home. We'd love to take in a session with you! Enjoy your time back home in Ireland.

    Cheers,

    Brooke and Sean
